And Highway 146 educates while it entertains - without sacrificing one minute of fun.

Each week, viewers go to fascinating locales all over the United States, and all around the world. Highway 146 is top-notch in every way. The high-definition graphics rival anything seen on TV. Featured music videos are all produced by award-winning Christian artists. And the hosts are charming and exceptionally cool.

Hey guys! My name is Tyler Calkins and I am 23 years old. I love the Lord Jesus Christ and I love living life! I am a very outgoing and passionate person. I am extremely spontaneous and random. And I am an entrepreneur at heart because I love being creative and starting new businesses and thinking in a new way. I love adventure, and experiencing new and exciting things, so that means I love to travel. Since Highway 146 takes me to new and exciting destinations each week, the show is a perfect fit for me. How about you? Do you love exciting new things? Then you’ll love Highway 146!

I graduated from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in May of 2007 with a degree in Spanish, German, and international trade and commerce. Did I mention that I LOVE languages? I am a certified translator in Spanish and German and I also speak American Sign Language. This is another reason I love Highway 146: I can use the gifts God has given me in this area.

Highway 146 is a great experience for me for a lot of reasons. Not only does it bring me closer to God, but I get to be closer to my sister! Family is one of the most important things in life and it is just a wonderful opportunity for me to be a co-host of the program with my sister Lael. One of my favorite episodes is the one when Lael and I go to the Dove Awards and meet many Christian artists. It was a whole lot of fun and we met so many interesting people!

Speaking of music, I am passionate about that too! I think it’s one of the best gifts God has given this earth. I have been singing since I was born. Both Lael and I love to sing and we love all types of music. This is why Highway 146 is one of the best shows on TV. We bring you the very latest and the very BEST Christian music out there. You know, I used to think that Christian music was “outdated” - not very unique. But since I’ve been part of Highway 146, I’ve heard some awesome music. And I get to share it with you guys! Not only is there some really good Christian music out there, the artists behind the music are awesome. I always thought that Christian artists were not very “real.” That is SO not true. Some of these artists are incredibly real and down to earth.

Hi, my name is Lael Calkins, and I’m Tyler’s younger sister. I love worship, I love Jesus, and I love to laugh! Every time I take a personality test, I’m even-keeled in every single category. I like to go with the flow. Wherever God takes me, I’m cool with it.

I have so many favorite things, I can’t name them all! I love to listen. I like to be silly. I like to play my guitar and sing. I love to read the Bible and fill my mind with it. I love music, and any type of dancing, especially swing, salsa, and Irish dancing. I love good food, cooking, the great outdoors and the smell of pine trees when I’m walking in the forest. I love people, but I also love being quiet and spending time with the Lord.

Growing up as the younger of two kids in the family, my brother had a stronger personality than I did. I was pretty meek - not exactly a born leader. But God started changing that when I became a Christian at seven years old. Over the years, he has made me confident and secure. Now I love leading people, especially spiritually, which is weird for someone who is the baby in the family.

I graduate soon from East Tennessee State University. My degree is in foreign languages with a concentration in Spanish, and my minor is in Communicative Disorders. I plan to be an audiologist in the future.

I love being a host on Highway 146 because it’s given me some time to be with my brother, Tyler. Also, the producers of the show speak Spanish, and I love Spanish!

I learned Spanish as a child because my parents sent Tyler and me to Spanish-speaking countries during the summers when I was growing up. Isn’t that cool?! We went to Ecuador, Spain, Costa Rica, and Mexico.

I recommend Highway 146 for any high school student or young adult. It’s not like MTV. On Highway 146, you hear great music by contemporary Christian bands, so you’re filling your mind with good things. We go to some really cool places, and learn about them as we go, so it’s educational too. And it’s entertaining and fun to watch.
