Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners

or sit in the seat of mockers.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season

and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does prospers.

Not so the wicked!

They are like chaff that the wind blows away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,

nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain?

The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together against the LORD

and against His Anointed One.

"Let us break their chains," they say, "and throw off their fetters."

The One enthroned in heaven laughs;

the Lord scoffs at them.

Then He rebukes them in His anger and terrifies them in His wrath, saying,

"I have installed my King on Zion, My holy hill."

I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me,

"You are my Son; today I have become your Father.

Ask of me, and I will make the nations your inheritance,

the ends of the earth your possession.

Answer me when I call to You, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress;

be merciful to me and hear my prayer.

How long, O men, will you turn my glory into shame?

How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?

Know that the LORD has set apart the godly for Himself

The LORD will hear when I call to Him.

In your anger do not sin; when you are on your beds, search your hearts and be silent.

Offer right sacrifices and trust in the LORD.

Many are asking, "Who can show us any good?"

Let the light of Your face shine upon us, O LORD.

You have filled my heart with greater joy

than when their grain and new wine abound.

I will lie down and sleep in peace,

for You alone, O LORD, make me dwell in safety.

O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

You have set Your glory above the heavens.

From the lips of children and infants You have ordained praise

because of Your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.

When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers,

the moon and the stars, which You have set in place,

what is man that You are mindful of him,

the son of man that You care for him?

You made him a little lower than the heavenly beings

and crowned him with glory and honor.

You made him ruler over the works of Your hands; You put everything under His feet:

all flocks and herds, and the beasts of the field, the fish of the sea, all that swim the paths of the seas.

O LORD, our LORD, how majestic is Your name in all the earth!

How long, O LORD ? Will You forget me forever?

How long will You hide Your face from me?

How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and every day have sorrow in my heart?

How long will my enemy triumph over me?

Look on me and answer, O LORD my God. Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;

my enemy will say, "I have overcome him," and my foes will rejoice when I fall.

But I trust in Your unfailing love;

my heart rejoices in Your salvation.

I will sing to the LORD, for He has been good to me.

LORD, who may dwell in Your sanctuary?

Who may live on Your holy hill?

He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous,

who speaks the truth from his heart

and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong

and casts no slur on his fellow man,

who despises a vile man

but honors those who fear the LORD,

who keeps his oath even when it hurts

who lends his money without usury

and does not accept the bribe against the innocent.

He who does these things will never be shaken.

Keep me safe, O God, for in You I take refuge.

I said to the LORD, "You are my Lord; apart from You I have no good thing."

As for the saints who are in the land, they are the glorious ones in whom in all my thought.

The sorrows of those will increase who run after other gods.

LORD, You have assigned me my portion and my cup; You have made my lot secure.

The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; surely I have a delightful inheritance.

I will praise the LORD, who counsels me;

even at night my heart instructs me.

I have set the LORD always before me.

Because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

The heavens declare the glory of God;

the skies proclaim the work of His hands.

Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.

There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.

Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.

The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul.

The statutes of the LORD are trustworthy, making wise the simple.

The precepts of the LORD are right, giving joy to the heart.

The commands of the LORD are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

The fear of the LORD is pure, enduring forever.

The ordinances of the LORD are sure and altogether righteous.

They are more precious than gold, than much pure gold; they are sweeter than honey, than honey from the comb.

The LORD is my shepherd.

I shall not be in want.

He makes me lie down in green pastures,

He leads me beside quiet waters,

He restores my soul.

He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name's sake.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil,

for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies.

You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life,

and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.

The LORD is my light and my salvation-whom shall I fear?

The LORD is the stronghold of my life-of whom shall I be afraid?

When evil men advance against me to devour my flesh, when my enemies and my foes attack me,

they will stumble and fall.

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;

though war break out against me, even then will I be confident.

One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life,

to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple.

For in the day of trouble He will keep me safe in His dwelling; He will hide me in the shelter of His tabernacle

and set me high upon a rock.

Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me;

at His tabernacle will I sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the LORD.

To you I call, O LORD my Rock; do not turn a deaf ear to me.

For if You remain silent, I will be like those who have gone down to the pit.

Hear my cry for mercy as I call to You for help,

as I lift up my hands toward Your Most Holy Place.

Do not drag me away with the wicked, with those who do evil,

who speak cordially with their neighbors but harbor malice in their hearts.

Since they show no regard for the works of the LORD and what His hands have done,

He will tear them down and never build them up again.

Praise be to the LORD,

for He has heard my cry for mercy.

The LORD is my strength and my shield;

my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped.

The LORD is the strength of His people, a fortress of salvation for His anointed one.

How blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, Whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against Him and in whose spirit is no deceit.

When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; My strength was sapped as in the heat of summer.

Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity.

You forgave the guilt of my sin.

Therefore let everyone who is godly pray to You, while You may be found;

surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him.

You are my hiding place; You will protect me from trouble

and surround me with songs of deliverance.

Rejoice in the LORD and be glad, you righteous;

sing, all you who are upright in heart!

I will extol the LORD at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.

My soul will boast in the LORD; let the afflicted hear and rejoice.

Glorify the LORD with me; let us exalt His name together.

I sought the LORD, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears.

This poor man called, and the LORD heard him; He saved him out of all his troubles.

The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them.

Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.

Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear Him lack nothing.

The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.

God is our refuge and strength,

an ever present help in trouble.

Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,

though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God, the holy place where the Most High dwells.

God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

He makes wars to cease to the ends of the earth;

He breaks the bow and shatters the spear, He burns the shields with fire.

"Be still, and know that I am God;

I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

The LORD Almighty is with us;

the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Your unfailing love;

according to Your great compassion blot out my transgressions.

Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.

Against You, You only, have I sinned and done what is evil in Your sight,

so that You are proved right when You speak and justified when You judge.

Surely I have been a sinner from birth,

sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean;

wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

Create in me a pure heart, O God,

and renew a steadfast spirit within me.

O God, You are my God, earnestly I seek You,

my soul thirsts for You, my body longs for You,

I have seen You in the sanctuary

and beheld Your power and Your glory.

Because Your love is better than life,

my lips will glorify You.

I will praise You as long as I live,

and in Your name I will lift up my hands.

My soul will be satisfied

as with the richest of foods;

with singing lips my mouth will praise You. On my bed I remember You;

I think of You through the watches of the night. Because You are my help,

I sing in the shadow of Your wings.

Praise awaits You, O God, in Zion;

to You the vows will be fulfilled.

O You who hear prayer,

to You all men will come.

When we were overwhelmed by sins,

You atoned for our transgressions.

Blessed is the man you choose and bring near to live in Your courts!

We are filled with the good things of Your house, of Your holy temple.

You care for the land and water it; You enrich it abundantly.

The streams of God are filled with water

to provide the people with grain,

for so You have ordained it.

The meadows are covered with flocks and the valleys are mantled with grain;

they shout for joy and sing.

May God be gracious to us and bless us and make His face shine upon us,

may Your ways be known on earth, Your salvation among all nations.

May the peoples praise You, O God;

may all the peoples praise You.

May the nations be glad and sing for joy,

for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth.

May the peoples praise You, O God; may all the peoples praise You, then the land will yield its harvest,

and God, our God, will bless us.

God will bless us,

And all the ends of the earth will fear Him.

How lovely is Your dwelling place,

O Lord Almighty!

My soul yearns, even faints for the courts of the LORD;

My heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.

Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself,

where she may have her young-a place near Your altar,

O LORD Almighty, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in Your house; they are ever praising You.

Blessed are those whose strength is in You, who have set their hearts on pilgrimage.

As they pass through the Valley of Baca,

they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.

Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere;

I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in You.

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High

will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say to the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."

Surely He will save you from the fowler¡¯s snare and from the deadly pestilence.

He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings you will find refuge;

a thousand may fall at your side then thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.

For He will command His angels concerning you

to guard you in all your ways;

"because He loves me." says the LORD, "I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name."
