Today’s Weather production staff
prepares for filming at the studio
Schedule
4 a.m. The scriptwriter verifies the data provided by the Korea
Meteorological Administration (KMA) as well as reports from
different media outlets. The staff puts together drafts for the
script and the corresponding computer graphics based on the
weather analyses.
4:30 a.m. Weathercaster gets ready for make-up.
5 a.m. Prior to the shoot, the producer compiles weather information,
including the highest and the lowest temperatures of the day
and the weekly forecast, while the scriptwriter puts a finishing
touch on the script based on the data provided by Kweather
and completes the graphics. Meanwhile, the cameraman is on
standby for the shoot.
5:30 a.m. The weathercaster familiarizes herself with the script and
computer graphics, and practices her enunciation and the
steps she will be taking during the shoot.
5:40 a.m. The filming begins.
6 a.m. The producer completes compositing and consolidated
editing, and hands them over to GCN’s Master Control.
6:30 a.m. The Master Control receives the file and converts it into
a broadcasting format.
7 a.m. Today’s Weather goes on the air.
